Cobalt is among the most coveted minerals in the world, widely used in rechargeable batteries for smartphones and electric cars, while also forming part of super alloys used in the aerospace industry and renewable energy technologies. On a global scale, cobalt production is led by the Democratic Republic of Congo, which provides more than 70% of the available supply. But there is promising Cobalt in reserves found in countries such as Uganda, with places like Kisoro, Kigezi, and the extended belt of Katanga believed to hold commercially viable elements.

  • Cobalt Exploration

Forms of Cobalt in Uganda

Cobalt is found in various forms, mostly combined with other metals as an ore. At Sajit Minerals, we convert Cobalt into forms for the market, which include industrial, commercial, and technological applications, with quality guaranteed in line with international standards.

  • Cobalt Ore
    Cobalt ore is mined from Uganda’s mineral belts, usually along with copper and nickel deposits. We sell high-quality cobalt ore (cobalt city), which is sourced and refined to produce Cobalt ferroalloy for refineries and manufacturing industries locally and internationally.

  • Gold Dust
     Gold Dust from alluvial mining and washing. Where gold dust is found in sufficient quantity and can be sealed, it is most desirable for trade and smelted into bars.

  • Refined Cobalt
    Purified Cobalt undergoes further purification to attain ultrapure form, which is used in aerospace, electrodes, and rechargeable batteries.
